I’ve made it! I’ve got to the end of the week and I think I’m finally getting over the lurgy thing. Still lacking in energy but I plan on easing back into training, taking Sparta Jen’s advice on board. See, sometimes I do do as I’m told
So the plan tomorrow is to a shortened swim of about a kilometre. I’ll see how well I recover from that and if all goes to plan I have a shortish cycle Sunday morning and maybe, just maybe, a run Sunday afternoon.
In the meantime I have a dinner to cook for tomorrow evening for the twins 30th birthday (don’t say it – I know I’m getting old!). Anyone for slow cooked beef and red wine pappardelle followed by chocolate meringue torte?
And, I also have a massage tomorrow lunchtime. Oh happy days!

Good strategy – more R&R and then easing back into training (very light training I hope with the option of cutting each session short if not 100% – yes?) – followed by Tues b’fast with yours truly
Looking forward to catching up and having yum b’fast
Yes, my sessions have been shortened over the next week and I really need to see how I pull up after each one. The last thing I need is to go backwards again. And I am really looking forward to tuesday breakfast – its my incentive for training up until then
Sounds like you are crawling out of the ditch … you have lots of time before the big race to get over the crud … all the training beats up our immune systems and I’ve turned into a germaphobe in my old age … thanks for the Sparta Jen’s reference … she has a very interesting article about recovery … specifically that most of us are working out too long on those days … Get well
Thanks Jeff. I have Sparta Jen to thank for keeping me in line & not overdoing it. There is a fine line between doing enough & overdoing it & getting sick. Hopefully I’m over it & on the road to recovery & uninterrupted training.
How can you have twins that old? You don’t look a day over 48.
Cute Ewen, very cute! Child bride
