The physio appointment. Hoping that something could be done for a back that was seizing up on me (my neck was now sore as well). Shuffled down to the examination room.
Hmmmm. Heard that a lot during my hour appointment. Poked, prodded, observed, told to bend this way and that, stand on one leg, then the other, get up on the table. More prodding and pushing. Oh my goodness, my spine was as rigid as, with some badly knotted muscles in my upper back. Lumbar spine was not mobile at all. Mid-back region was also very tight. Hmmmm again.
Finally, a hot pack was placed on my back. Bliss. Then I could get up…..slowly…..no miracles had occurred. I did have slightly more mobility but I was still very sore. Told to take it easy for the next 24-48 hours and to limit the time spent sitting, as this aggravates my back.
I’ll start swimming mid-week. I’ll see how I am later in the week before I even think about resuming running. For the moment walking will do.
“Every day we should hear at least one little song, read one good poem, see one exquisite picture, and, if possible, speak a few sensible words.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

All you can do is do what you can do. In other words, err on the side of caution and take care. Let’s have a “good mental health” brekkie soon – yes??
Sounds good Liz, I’m all for a mental health brekkie!
