Double the fun

5 Feb

5 Feb 2013_after the runTwo runs today – one first thing this morning and then a 5km race after work. Double the fun? I’m not sure!

However the reason for doing two runs was that I can’t guarantee that I can get away from work early enough to get to events so I decided to do part of the 14km I had scheduled for today, this morning. That way if I couldn’t get away for this afternoon’s run, the second in the Summer Series at the Boathouse, at least I would have run 9km for the day. And if I can get to the event after work, well then I can do the remaining 5km.

So it was this morning that I did an easy 9km run before work.

And then this afternoon I did make it in time for the 5km event at the Boathouse. It was very warm with no wind. I would have preferred it a little cooler but there was not much I could do about the weather conditions except suck it up and do it! I was happy with my run, given I had already run that day. Initially my legs were feeling the effects of this morning’s run but I gradually improved as the kilometres went by. It was good speedwork training, given that the pace for most of my runs is a lot slower – its good to push myself every now and then.

No run tomorrow but a recovery swim to look forward to. :)

Great to see you this arvo CJ – looking cool in green. But yes, a bit on the warm/humid side going by the amount I sweated!
