Tomorrow, tomorrow……

3 Aug

I have just got home after seeing Annie at the Regent theatre. Wow, what a great show. Anthony Warlow was amazing, as was Todd McKenney, Bert Newton, Nancye Hayes and the girls who played Annie and the other orphans. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Otherwise a quiet day. Did a weights session this morning that focused on shoulders, triceps and biceps, and hamstrings. And it was a miracle I didn’t face plant on the treadmill during intervals, my legs were battling to keep up with the pace. And if I had, no-one would have seen it!

And hallelujah! What was mission impossible became not only possible but accomplished today. I bought boots! Finally! How many shoe shops had I ventured into, tried on how many pairs of boots – ankle, knee length, black, brown, suede, no heel, low heel, chunky heel, stiletto, etc! But this morning I had a plan and some idea of what I wanted and what stores I would revisit. And hit the jackpot in the third store. Yay! πŸ™‚

This afternoon I visited a shop I frequently pass – Melbournestyle. A gallery, store and design studio that specialises in beautiful things Melburnian (according to their website). There are plenty of quirky, unique and beautiful items in the store. I ended up walking out the happy owner of a black and silver cuff and chunky black resin ring. This was followed by a coffee at Zappa cafe, rated as a three bean cafe by Melbourne Coffee Review (a 3 bean rating is the best). Another unique and quirky cafe with lots of Zappa memorabilia as well as other kitsch. Good coffee too πŸ™‚

And tomorrow: the plan is its a rest day! So there will be a sleep in, followed by a leisurely breakfast at St Ali before I head back to Canberra. It’s been a great break in Melbourne.

Thanks. The show was great. Now I’m back home and it’s back to normal life, healthy eating and stepping up the training. Oh well, it was good while it lasted!
